A note to all prospective 2012 C.A.M.P. Staff from Janny & Boonie (founding directors)
Yes, it is time to be planning our 2012 C.A.M.P.!
And if you are reading this, it probably means that you are hoping to be on the staff this year. Thank you, because that also probably means that C.A.M.P. has been an important part of your life.
Fifty seven years ago, it was Boonie's and my first time on staff. We did not know what we were doing at all, but we knew we loved camping, and that by adding the spiritual part to it that Rev. Selvey intended to include, it probably could only make it better. We were right. We also realized that this commitment meant more than just having one fun week away with kids at camp--It meant that we needed to live an exemplary life..not for just that week either! (Well, we have tried, and in so doing this experience became much bigger than we ever dreamed!) It is my suggestion that you, too, take this commitment very seriously. I can just about guarantee that it will enrich your life more than anything else you have ever done.... and it will also enrich the lives of the campers and indeed the very essence of C.A.M.P. itself...plus you will have fun that will last a lifetime!
Please do think about this as you fill out your camp staff application.

INSTRUCTIONS
C.A.M.P., Constructing Assured and Motivated People, a faith based youth program will be holding our 57th camping session August 4-11, 2012 with staff reporting on August 4 at Tar Hollow State Park's resident camping facility in southeast Ohio. Our program is staffed with all volunteers who, if applying to be a cabin counselor, must have a fingerprint background screening according to Ohio's "best practices" law to protect our campers, staff and the integrity of our C.A.M.P. program. All new volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. We have three classifications of staff you may register for: Cabin Counselor, Kitchen Staff, or Support Staff. Descriptions of each are in the registration. ALL Staff are required to become a member of Staff, Friends and Alumni of C.A.M.P. by paying a $25.00 membership fee so you will be insured by SFA/Camp's insurance. This fee will need to be paid upon registration check out. You may also donate to a "campership" for under privileged children as well as purchase one of our staff polo shirts or extra staff t-shirts when you check out.
Before beginning your application, if you do not have a credit card or checking account, or prefer not to use those to pay your membership fee, please contact Tina and she will give you a coupon code which can be used at check out.
Last year's returning volunteers: login to your account under Returning Staff. Please follow the directions if you do not remember you password.
New volunteer applicants: click on New Staff and create an account. Follow instructions and completely fill in your application before submitting. Your reference letter and background screening can be submitted by mailing to C.A.M.P., PO Box 307371, Gahanna, OH, 43230-3731. Again, your application will not be considered complete until your reference letter and background screening have been turned in.
All Staff Applications must be submitted by June 1, 2012.
