I HAVE A DREAM

Dear Prospective C.A.M.P. Staff,

As we sit down to write this introductory letter, it just happens to be Martin Luther King Day. It was just about this time of year 53 years ago that Reverend John Selvey approached his newly selected Youth Leaders at the Gahanna Community Church and explained that indeed he had a dream. He asked our help in making that dream come true.

It was with enthusiasm and excitement that we accepted, but only after careful consideration: “Were we capable of this task?” “Were we willing to dedicate ourselves to it?” Well, we weren’t sure about the capable part but figured maybe our dedication would carry us through.

Reverend Selvey’s dream came to be and continues today, but it is not finished! Today we ask those of you who are thinking about applying for staff: “Are you willing to help complete his dream?” “What about ‘capable’ and ‘dedicated’?” These are things to think about before tackling the challenge...and it will be a challenge, but My, What a rewarding one!

The dream of C.A.M.P. continues year after year--day-by -day. Will you be a part of its continuation?

If indeed you decide that, Yes, you do have that dedication, “WELCOME ABOARD!” Thanks for helping complete Johnny’s dream.

Instructions for the

2008 C.A.M.P. Staff Application

Ø Each person applying for a C.A.M.P. Staff position will need to complete an on-line application as a NEW STAFF MEMBER.

Ø Each volunteer will be asked to open an account on our secure website.

Ø Please provide all the information so your application can be considered. NOTE: You should receive 2 email confirmations, one for opening the account and another for the staff registration. If you do not receive these emails you have not completed the process. You will need to go back in and finish the application processes as either a new user or returning user depending on what you did not complete.

Ø If you are applying for staff for the first time OR if you have not been on staff within the past 3 years, you will need to provide a fingerprint/background check from the state where you reside. If you have had a fingerprint/background check done within the past year

(i.e.: job, volunteer work) we will accept a copy of that check.

Ø You will also have the opportunity to purchase a golf/polo shirt on-line as well as join Staff, Friend, and Alumni (SFA) or make a donation to C.A.M.P. if you like.

Thank you for your patience as C.A.M.P. takes a giant leap into this technological realm. Once you have applied this year to be on staff, you will be able to reapply next year with just a few clicks of your mouse, making any changes you might need and submitting your application.
